Wilmington based Crown Hotel and Travel Management announces the rebranding of the 105 room Comfort Suites Magnolia Greens Leland to the Holiday Inn Express Leland-Wilmington Area. “We are extremely excited, we have enjoyed our affiliation with Choice Hotels for the past 4 years but our partners believed it was time for a flag change” stated Barry Eagle, Director of Operations.  The hotel will convert to the Holiday Inn Express on August 15. Eagle stated that the strength of the IHG rewards club frequent traveler program and the overwhelming worldwide recognition of the Holiday Inn brand was a major factor for the switch. The conversion cost $500,000 with upgrades to the property included all new bedding, new fitness center, upgrades to the guestroom bathrooms and breakfast bar.
